Keep Your Dog Cool During Summer
July 5th, 2012
When it's summer time, it's usually hot.  Here is Las Vegas, it can get VERY HOT.  If you own a dog, you likely walk your dog.  Remember, when it's hot, it can mean bad things to a dog that is low to the ground already.  Consider the following option...

A Cool Collar.  There are plenty of cooling collars on the market depending on the size and needs of your dog. Part of keeping your canine cool is keeping the area around his face and ears from getting too warm. Outward Hound makes a cooling bandana that velcroes around your pet's neck.  However, it can get a bit heavy once it is fully saturated with water. If you have a smaller dog or limited budget, you can get the same effect by dampening a bandana with cold water and tying it around your dog's neck. The wet bandana can provide a cooling effect for your pet on a walk, at play or just hanging out.
